Beloved Above the Fold news stand is closing after 50 years.

Larchmont St. Los Angeles, laarttv.com The beloved Above the Fold news stand is closing after 50 years. This literary stalwart and social mecca of Larchmont Street brought intellectual spark to the village, offering newspapers and magazines of every genre. A quiet eulogy for the literary world—we’ll miss it.

LA Gallery a must destination: Masterpiece furniture where radical design meets the need to exhale.

Carpenters Workshop Gallery in Los Angeles—a must destination:

Masterpiece furniture where radical design meets the need to exhale.

Carpenters Workshop Gallery is the perfect place to experience the essence of quiet reflection. Whether it's an artful piece of furniture, a sculptural vase, or a thoughtfully crafted object, come afternoon when the gallery is quiet. Meditate as you sit on art furniture. Observe, and allow your mind to settle into focused relaxation. As the German poet Goethe once wrote, “Every object, well-contemplated, opens a new organ in us.” His words remind us that deep contemplation of art can awaken parts of ourselves we didn’t know existed.

Carpenters Workshop Gallery in Los Angeles, represents named artists: Bea Bonafini, Maarten Baas, Frederik Molenschot, Ingrid Donat, Robert Stadler, and Vincenzo De Cotiis, to emerging voices featured in their New Guard series—such as Bea Bonafini, Léa Mestres, Paul Créange, Marcin Rusak, Luke Fuller, and Sylvain Rieu‑Piquet, and other artists.

Carpenters Workshop Gallery is the ideal space for quiet reflection. Whether it's a sculptural chair, a crafted vase, or an artful object, visit in the stillness of the afternoon. Sit. Observe. Let your mind relax. As Goethe wrote, “Every object, well-contemplated, opens a new organ in us.” Art, deeply contemplated, can awaken parts of us we never knew existed.

Two intellectual women pause in front of an unusually shaped octagonal armoire by artist/designer Vincenzo De Cotiis. It features two types of veil doors—one of them secret, opening from the opposite side—allowing a woman to hide her most personal, passionate treasures. It can also act as a confessional booth, where she reveals her romantic secrets to her savior-listener. This piece of art furniture is a must-have for voyeurs of an exciting lifestyle.

Today's flavor conversation piece

Artist/designer Rick Owens famous concrete table

Stanley Kubrick’s ghost made an unexpected visit to The Carpenter’s Workshop Gallery in West Hollywood—and selected LaArtTV to reimagine the iconic Eyes Wide Shut love scene atop a monumental dark marble table. The honor wasn’t incidental. LaArtTV was chosen for its bold lens and provocative style—uniquely positioned to turn cinematic memory into cultural dialogue. A one-of-a-kind art performance. The setting: a sculptural size Rick Owens table. The scene: intimate, tense, charged with meaning.

LaArtTV posed the question to the gallery crowd: How would you direct this moment of desire?
Would the man (Tom Cruise) remain on top—asserting control? Or would you reverse it, placing Nicole Kidman above shifting the gaze, rewriting the power dynamic? Everyone who heard it wished they had been there to respond. This was unrivaled art as liturgy—a rare conversation piece in today’s art world. ©
