Joan Maia Schwartz, artist-writer. Los Angeles, CA. 1.1.2025. Wishing you a New Year filled with unforgettable experiences! Let’s kick it off with an extraordinary art performance from Art Liturgy Extravaganza. Sparkling like a North Star poem, it will give you the idea of an adventurous lifestyle. Here's to a year of endless possibilities awaiting for you! Let’s team up with this adventurous journalist, Miss Juliette LaCroix encounter in Chapter 7. NWHF,(Novel-With-Hip-Flair.)
(Précis,) Juliette retreats to her room and sinks into a sage-infused bath. After reviewing the second batch of notes, from the Art Liturgy performance, she noticed that each of the artist's works captivated her attention. If we have in our life one last art experience awaiting—which, will we choose? Juliette goes off to bed and sleeps beneath an untitled large painting by German artist Elvira Bach. The art specialty of this hotel is an enticing art piece above the bed. (4 minutes to read).
About half an hour later, I pressed the hotel’s blue porcelain button for the 3rd floor. As the elevator ascended, I reflected on my occasional struggle with self-control and how it ties to the psychology of my work. The principle is simple: "To excel as a journalist, one should maintain professional discipline while capturing the unique details and vibrant colors of characters and their stories." The article's psychological depth must resonate so strongly that you draw the readers into the world of the characters. When I opened the door, I was greeted by the soothing scent of bath salts. What makes the Arte Kunst Hotel in Berlin exceptional is that the hotel concierge can prepare your bath for you.
I opened a small bottle of Nevas mineral water and immersed in my notes. We need to discuss the art performances. I slipped into the bath, the water a light green with a hint of sage. Swiping my iPhone, I transferred notes to my iPod from the show earlier. These would become part of the articles I’m preparing for various magazines. I typically craft half-page pieces featuring a hip art photo and a catchy title in a different language to grab attention. Initially, foreign magazine editors weren’t keen on my multilingual flair, but now they request it regularly.
Starting with a note, edit; At the Art-Kumste-Hotel-Berlin, Art Liturgy, performances, fall 2023.
Table 11) Olga Grotova (represented by Thadeus Ropac-Paris). Her 8 x 6 ft canvas depicted Stalin in red drag, reimagined as a double image of a Putin figure in baggy orange cargo pants with a silver cowboy belt by Steve McQueen. Despite the transformation, the Communist iconography remained unmistakable as two Mega Communist Kings. This provocative piece sold for $2.5 million at Christie's two months later. There wasn’t any political message, thus it was appealing.
Table 4). We previously met Faiza at the art liturgy show, where she stood out as one of the most fascinating characters. Originally from Morocco, Faiza attempted to resurrect her lover who had committed suicide, inspired by the story of Hindu Princess Savitri and Prince Saryaum. Her tale is a chilling saga of escape involving transport of a dead body of her lover and explores the intense curiosity surrounding doomed love. Suicide, while tragic, is not always the relationship’s end but is sometimes seen as a burden of fate one must experience. I’ll be meeting Faiza in a few days for an in-depth interview.
Table 6) Featured Micosch Holland, a Belgian artist known for his “To Ashes” pieces. This octagonal oil painting displayed six vibrant, abstract portraits of young men as if decreed by the goddess Erida from the Iliad. The artwork was to be cut into thin strips with Bohin Bent tailor scissors. Next to him was a haberdasher Mons. Pierre Didier, from Ultramod in Paris, who would transform these colorful strips into a hip hat for a St. Tropez beach fashion piece for Erez the women's swimwear brand.
Table 12) showcased Aelita Andre, an Australian artist, with her 3D art installation—a pyramid of thin books with abstract covers, including Pantone’s Color of the Year. A striking man assisted her in tight overalls dyed Pantone Black 7 C. Beside the art capture, everyone’s phones lenses were fixated on his bulged zipper. Could a double-camera click on a zipper be considered art? I sensed the presence of the Greek god Himeros. She hones, that the irresistible allure of sexual desire is a powerful force, compelling people to sacrifice marriage, wealth, career, and status – including their lives. Have you ever experienced a life so mesmerizing, so adrenaline-charged, it felt like the universe itself was staging a play just for you. Give me the recipe, please!
Table 9) The standout was world-renowned Brazilian artist Joaninha Orlanda, dressed as a 1960s Sears store salesperson, polishing a "Debutante" shoe from the Sears brand. Wearing fingerless gloves, her synchronized movements were set to music. Version 1). Malcolm McLaren's track “Buffalo Gals.” Version 2). Deliben Lakme Flower duet. Remembering a focused light illuminated her nails, which suddenly flashed so intensely that it was almost painful to my eyes. Miss Joaninha Orlanda draped her fingernails in a diamond-clad crust. Each nail sparkled as she attentively polished the Sears Kerry Brooke women’s shoe. This bold art performance, (Sears props, shoes) valued at $17,000.00 including the 6K filmed video was sold unsurprisingly for a $118,000.00 to a private collector from Germany. I was informed he will use the footage to promote his exclusive shoe brand stores. The diamonds, sourced from Endiama, E.P. (Parent Company of Laurica Diamond Mines), 100 Major Kanhangulo, Luanda-Angola was the shimmering foundation of this unique art performance creation. Artist: Miss Joaninha Orlanda is the artist with a story.
Fundacion Salvador Dali link to the art performance, “Resurrection of Sears–Art performance.” Gala (Elena Ivanovna Diakonova) was married to Paul Éluard, a poet, and later to the iconic surrealist artist Salvador Dalí. Both giants of their time knew each other well, and remarkably, no jealousy existed between them. When this unique mistress, Gala divorced Éluard to marry Dalí, she entered his surrealist paradise, yet she remained deeply enchanted by Éluard’s poem: “Even when we sleep, we watch over each other.” Gala knew both men were eccentric geniuses—Dalí, the artist, and Éluard, the poet. Around 1930, Dalí created the "Eye of Time," a broch with a diamond-encrusted eye. Concept that mesmerized her. Gala, secretly in love with both men, has the impression characteristics of erotomania. Likely, inspired by this obsession, she envisioned an extraordinary, oversized coffin encrusted with diamond dust—a mystery whose real purpose remains unknown. She contacted Laurica Diamond Mines in Angola, 100 Major Kanhangulo, Luanda-Angola. Commissioning a special slivery diamond dust, for her genuinely audacious art. There is no record if she ever finished her oversized (fits three?) coffin encrusted diamond dust project.

The diamonds, sourced from Endiama, E.P. (parent company of Laurica Diamond Mines) at 100 Major Kanhangulo, Luanda, Angola, are the very same brand of diamond dust Gala, Salvador Dalí’s wife, used for her enigmatic coffin project.
